Haley Ritchie is a fourth year journalism student at Carleton University and full-time reporter with Metro News Ottawa. Her journalism passions include local news, politics, data and multimedia reporting. When she gets a moment away from the smartphone screen, Haley enjoys fishing and being near the Ottawa river.

Lindsay Brennan is a fourth-year Journalism student at Carleton University. After graduation she will be pursuing a Masters degree in Digital Media at Ryerson University. Outside of school, she enjoys chai tea, traveling to new places, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Shannon Milling is an ecofeminist, an animal rights activist, and an art, music and food enthusiast. She is an Ottawa native, and loves this city with all of its hidden magic. She has a passion for documentaries, cooking, and spending quality time with her friends and her fur baby. She plans to travel the world and save it as well.

Mark Gorokhovski

Mark Gorokhovski

Mark Gorokhovski is a fifth-year student at Carleton University. Born in Russia, Mark is interested in learning about the world and the over-six billion people it houses. His journalistic works range from writing about drone journalism to ice hockey in Australia and a story about Elk. Along with journalism, Mark has worked on two video documentaries in the 2014-2015 school year.

Francella Fiallos

Francella Fiallos is a fourth year journalism and religion student at Carleton University. Her work has appeared in The Leveller, rabble.ca, the Ottawa Citizen and CBC Politics. Francella is interested in all things Canadian politics and radio. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, bouldering and looking for the perfect road bike.

Gabriel Mayost

Gabriel is a fourth year journalism student at Carleton University. In addition to journalism, he studies religion and literature. When away from the fast-paced world of reporting, he frequents used book sales, goes to the movies, and tries to cook.

Fangliang Xu

Fangliang Xu

Fangliang Xu says you can just call her Xu – it sounds just like “shoe.” She is a documentary maker based in Ottawa. She says she is lucky, her first camera was given as a gift by her beloved grandfather. It is a Canon 5D Mark II, with a 24-70mm lens. The camera helps her see the world in an interesting way, either through photos, or videos.
