Andre is a fourth-year undergraduate student studying journalism and history. Coming from a small town in south-western Ontario he has always had a passion for work in the outdoors.
In his spare time he enjoys hiking, traveling and camping. After graduating this spring, he is looking forward to spending several years traveling and working in a wide range of environments.
Samantha is a fourth-year journalism student with minors in French and law from Markham, Ont. She enjoys reporting on politics and business. In her free time, you’ll likely find her either baking or running.
Garrett Barry is a fourth-year journalism student at Carleton University. Born in Newfoundland, he has spent time writing in Ottawa, Montreal and St. John’s. Outside of journalism, Garrett enjoys photography and the Miles Davis Quintet.
Miriam Katawazi is a fourth-year journalism and human rights student at Carleton University. Her writing often focuses on health, immigration, refugee, labour, education, and human rights beats.
Paige is a second-year master of journalism student at Carleton University. Like many other Canadians, Paige has spent the past several years moving across the country (and world) for work and school. After being raised in rural Alberta, she lived in Edmonton, Yukon, New Brunswick, Norway and now hangs her hat in Ottawa.
When she’s not working, Paige hits the track as roller derby skater Shania Pain.
Jessica is in her final year of journalism at Carleton University. Her reporting interests include international affairs, the environment, and, particularly, the Canadian North. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and reading.
Jesselyn Cook will be graduating from Carleton University this spring with a combined honours degree in Journalism and French. As a journalist with a strong interest in multimedia reporting, she is always looking for a compelling story and the best way to share it.
