Police investigate latest downtown sex assault

Ottawa Police are investigating a recent incident in a string of sexual assaults hitting the downtown area.

On April 22 at 12:55 a.m. at the corner of Slater and Elgin streets, a 25-year-old woman was approached from behind by a man who put his hand on her face and told her it contained a bodily substance.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 25 and 35 years of age, about five feet eight inches tall, with a medium build, and wearing a beige coat and possibly a red hat.

The incident follows several other sexual assaults during which a man approached women from behind and attempted to pull down their pants.
