Planning committee gives green light to two more condos

The city's planning committee approved two condo applications in the west end of Centretown at a meeting Tuesday morning.

Domicile Construction Inc. has plans to build an 18-storey condo on Rochester Street between Pamilla and Norman streets, while Claridge Homes is looking to build a 30-storey condo tower at 1040 Somerset St.

The planning committee was swift in approving both projects despite opposition from local community members.

Both applications include plans to invest in community projects, such as social housing in the Little Italy area and recreation initiatives in Hintonburg.

Before any work is done on the projects, city council will have to approve the plans.
