Budget cuts target seniors, homeless

While Ottawa-Carleton’s financial well-being may be bolstered by the region’s proposed budget, critics fear it’s being achieved at the expense of the health of the community.

Of the $6.2 million in service cuts outlined in the proposed budget, $1.2 million would come out of health programs. Such a move would result in fewer dental care classes in schools to reduced hours for sexual health clinics, for example. read more
