Happy Goat Coffee Company to open third location in Centretown

Happy Goat Coffee Company is opening its third location on Feb. 1 in Centretown.
In a recent Instagram post announcing the grand opening, Happy Goat stated that, “362 Elgin St. will become our newest home and we are so excited to open our doors and welcome you all in.”
The location was a former Starbucks Coffee franchise that closed in October. Shortly after the closure, Happy Goat put up posters in the window informing coffee-drinkers that its doors would open once renovations are complete.
Happy Goat’s second location in Sandy Hill opened earlier this month. The original shop is on Laurel Avenue, just west of the O-Train line in Little Italy.
Happy Goat Coffee Company is mostly known in Ottawa for its artisan coffee, which is available at many locations throughout the city, including The Metcalfe hotel and The Art House Café in Centretown
The company’s website promotes a niche coffee market that focuses on roasting in fewer batches to support small-scale farmers.
Happy Goat trades directly with independent farmers in Africa, Asia, Central and South America.
The Happy Goat website states: “Small farmers focus on producing exceptional coffees which cater to niche artisan roasters like us. In contrast, mass market coffee roasters focus on uniformity and low cost.”
Aside from its two existing coffee shop locations, the coffee brewing company distributes its products to over 60 retail and restaurant locations in downtown Ottawa and elsewhere around the city.
