In photos: Anti-mall comes to life night and day

Intro: Common, an “anti-mall” on the corner of Elgin and Gladstone streets, is a multi-purpose space for businesses. The anti-mall idea turns away from box stores and chains in favour of inclusive spaces where many events are hosted for the community. It appeals to a generation where malls are no longer the go-to hang out spot. During the day, Common houses Morning Owl Coffeehouse, Concept Shop clothing, and Le Petit Salon. At night, the same space transforms into Common Eatery, a modern restaurant and cocktail bar.
