Truck damages tree at Laurier and Bronson

A truck making a delivery near the corner of Laurier and Bronson avenues on Sept. 8 snapped a huge branch of a tree on the edge of the Nanny Goat Hill Community Garden, blocking traffic during the Friday morning rush hour.

Police kept onlookers away from the scene as a tree-cutting crew removed the massive limb from between the cab and trailer of the truck, where it had become lodged after being pulled down by the vehicle.

An exhaust pipe at the rear of the truck cab was mangled by the falling branch of the tree, the trunk and remaining limbs of which appeared to be undamaged.

The truck caused damage to a large branch of the tree while it was making a delivery. Randy Boswell, Centretown News
