She was raised in the Greater Toronto Area but now enjoys the unique experience of living in the country’s capital. For the last two years, Beth has worked in residence with a focus on sustainable initiatives.

Alex Brockman is a fourth-year journalism and history student at Carleton University from Windsor, Ont. His reporting interests include foreign affairs, politics and sports.

Born in Palmerston, Ont., Adella Khan was raised between rural Ontario and the side of a hill in Trinidad. She is in her final year of study at Carleton University for journalism and women and gender studies.
Being immersed in different cultures has given Adella a deep-rooted interest in equality, music, and delicious food and a voracity for telling people’s stories.
She has covered arts, news, and politics and is interested in the way different media—print, video, sound—can all tell stories differently.
Mara Selanders came to Carleton and to journalism from the University of Saskatchewan and through a love of words, politics and social issues. Her most recent real-world news stint was as an intern at a radio station in Gulu, Uganda.
