What kind of immigrants come to Canada?

Immigrants to Canada are admitted through different Citizenship and Immigration classes: economic, family, refugees and many others. Below, we’ve displayed Canadian immigrant numbers by class and category over the past five years.

Economic immigrants make up more than half of Canada’s yearly immigration numbers, while family class immigrants are usually around 20 per cent of the total.

Data from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
