Before heading home for Fall break, Midweek’s radio team was full of energy Wednesday morning.
As usual, production day started at 8:30 am sharp.
However, with five team members missing due to internships, the reporters had to hit the ground running and some even managed to produce several stories!
Special thanks to those reporters missing from today who still managed to contribute to the show from their respective internships.
This week’s production team also featured several volunteers who offered to step in and fill missing positions.
With hosts Caelan Foye and Audrey Pridham, the live show featured stories about flu season in Ottawa, the upcoming U.S Presidential election, and the aurora borealis sightings across Ottawa explained.
Hurricane season is in full swing, and the impact on Canada’s farms and food choices are in question. David Cummings spoke with Scott Mitchell, expert on the effects of extreme weather on agriculture.
Just two years after Ottawa city councilors voted to appoint a non-voting Indigenous member, the Ontario Municipal Act won’t allow it to come to fruition. Nicole Dainty spoke with Michael Polowin, a lawyer specializing in municipal law.
University sports are a vital aspect of student life. After the Carleton women’s rugby team played their final game of the season on Oct. 13, emotions were running high. Caelan Foye spoke with Sarah Lujetic, a graduating varsity women’s rugby player.
