Ottawa has decided it’s time to enhance its night economy.
This summer it followed the lead of other cities around the world and appointed a nightlife commissioner.
In November, it also created a nightlife council to help support him. It’s meant to be a bridge between City Hall and the city’s communities.
The 25th Hour’s Jessica Shackleton tells us how other cities are using this approach to enhance their nightlife, and how Ottawa could do the same.
