Midweek is back, with hosts Olivia Grandy and Evan Bryant behind the microphones.
The entire Midweek team is back together in the newsroom this week and, as always, they were prepared and ready to go at 8:30 a.m.
The production team got to work right away, organizing the show lineup, editing scripts and audio, and organizing a pitch meeting.
Same-day reporters headed off on their own, like with previous shows, in pursuit of their stories.
We had a jam-packed show this week with three tape talks and only one song making its way into the lineup. Lots of news to cover!
As the production team members got busy, reporters started slowly filtering back to the classroom and the newsroom collaboration remained efficient.
We did run into a few wrinkles that got ironed out just in time to finish building the scripts.
The hosts and producers were in the recording studio with 10 minutes to spare!
The live show featured a vigil to raise awareness of the worsening conditions in northern Gaza where the majority of Israeli attacks have been targeted.
This week’s lineup also featured a breakdown of the U.S Presidential Election that occurred the night before on Nov. 5, and Day of the Dead celebrations ensuing across the Ottawa Byward Market.
Thanks to our incredibly competent, curious, and dedicated crew, Midweek aired with no issues.
See you next week!
