The COVID-19 pandemic has given many people the opportunity to spend more time outdoors. Reporter Kayla Holmes is one. She’s been connecting more with nature and discovering new places to find biodiversity around Ottawa.
To learn more about how to explore nature – even in our own backyard – Kayla spoke to Marc Johnson. He’s a biology professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga who, early in the pandemic, started an online video series with his family, to help young people explore nature.
In this story, Kayla finds out more about Johnson’s project, and explores how technology can help us learn about the natural world — demonstrating that we can all discover the nature around us, no matter where we live.
