After the mass shooting at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand last Friday, Carleton’s Muslim Students’ Association is coming together together to emphasize peace during Islam Awareness Week (March 18-22) at the school.
There are daily events each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the University Centre Atrium, with different activities taking place such as guest speakers, a henna table, a calligraphy table, an arts and crafts table and a photo booth.
Organizers say the goal is to address misconceptions and stereotypes while raising awareness of the beliefs and values pertaining to Islam in a collaborative and positive way.
Donations will go towards supporting the crisis in Yemen.
