Drop that remote and put down your beer,
Turn off that game to retain the name Dear.
Valentine’s Day is on its way,
And this isn’t how I want to spend that day.
The Super Bowl is over, enough sitting about,
Put those chips in the cupboard, because we’re going out.
It’s winter and there’s plenty to do,
Here, I’ve made a list of activities for two.
To ease your way off the couch, we could start with a hike,
It may not remove love handles, but I think you’ll find it alright.
But I must admit, skiing is more my style,
Though for you to learn, it could take a while.
Cross-country skiing is where we should start,
Gliding on skis isn’t much of an art.
But downhill skiing is so much more fun,
We could even try snowboarding, what do you think, Hon?
If it’s not too cold, why not go for a skate?
Followed by dinner, this could make a really nice date.
I know what you’re thinking, I can see your mind race,
“Maybe a storm will force her to slow down her pace.”
Not to worry, I made a list of indoor sports too,
So listen closely and then we’ll decide what to do.
There’s swimming and a hot tub to relieve stress,
Or we could do something more adventurous.
I know! Put on your hiking boots and the proper gear,
There’s a cool indoor rockclimbing place very near.
How about bowling? That’s something we never do,
There’s also indoor golfing, I’ll leave it to you.
Wait, I know a great activity we should try,
Perfect for Valentine’s Day, perfect for you and I.
Ballroom dancing would be fun, I know from what I speak,
From the tango to the waltz, we could dance cheek to cheek.
But whatever we do, I really don’t care,
Valentine’s Day is about being together, it’s about being a pair.
