Special Olympians skate into Minto Club
The Special Olympics Figure Skating Program has outgrown its home ice surface.The competitive figure skaters who had been using the ice at McNabb Arena have now been granted permission to use the Olympic-sized ice at the Minto Skating Club, McNabb opened exclusively for their learn-to-skate program.
Lugg is no slug when it comes to ringette
You may have passed Katie Lugg on her way to the University of Ottawa to study commerce. Either way, you probably did not know the 19-year old Ottawa native will be playing for Team Canada in the 2004 world ringette championships, being held in Sweden this November.

Better uses for bridge money

Maybe, Mr. Warnock, you could explain to me, and the other obviously ignorant taxpayers of the City of Ottawa that see no need for a $5 million footbridge from a bus stop on one side of the canal to a residential area on the other, 300m from the existing and newly renovated Laurier Avenue bridge, how it would “improve our quality of life” ?
