The Ottawa Youth Orchestra presents its second concert of the season on February 20 at 2:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the auditorium of the Ottawa Technical Learning Centre (formerly McArthur High School) at 485 Donald St. General admission tickets are available at the door for $12, $7 for seniors and students, and $5 for children.

The Canadian Centre for Functional Medicine is hosting a free public lecture – “Say goodbye to fad diets” – at the RA Centre at 2451 Riverside Dr. on February 22. The lecture will focus on breakthrough research in appetite control and health issues. Call 1-866-233-5858.

The Unitarian Church Hall is hosting an exhibition of original art by local artists February 14 and 15. The Media Club of Ottawa presents a book launch for Dr. Deva-Marie Beck’s graphic narrative, “Florence Nightingale Today: Healing, Leadership, Global Action,” on Jan. 31. The launch will be held at the National Press Club, 165 Sparks St. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets, which include the price of supper, are available for $20, and $5 for students.
