Parole office move not soon enough for some
The Ottawa District Parole office will relocate away from Elgin Street Public School by 2009, but residents say the move is not soon enough.
Jingoistic displays not Canada’s way
In a sea of red, Canadians were “Standing up for Canada” and its soldiers at a rally on Parliament Hill last week. At times it seemed all that was missing from the festivities were some stars and stripes and an elderly man belting out Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Thousand Islands Arts will present its 18th annual Autumn Leaves Studio Tour over five days in the Canadian Thousand Islands Region from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The tour includes a visit to 19 juried artists and artisans of paintings, drawings, pottery and textiles. The free self-guided driving tour will take visitors to 15 studios all located in the Thousand Islands area. Watch for red and white signs along the studio tour route.
