Paper clip boy says he needs more trade offers

Krentz, 12, is trying to trade a red paper clip for a big-screen television to donate to CHEO. He has so far traded up from the paper clip to a sports jacket and some jewelry. He says he still wants to keep the project going, but has been having difficulty due to time constraints and lack of interest.

“I don’t have a ton of time to spare,” says Krentz. “[And] I need trade offers. I know if everyone took five minutes to go through their basements, attics, jewelry boxes, they could find something worth trading to me. If you can’t find anything at least you can say you tried!”

Those interested in offering a trade can visit Krentz’s website, oneredpaperclipjr.com.

Kent Street condo court appeal dropped

A court appeal against Charlesfort Developments’ plan to construct a condominium development on Kent Street has been resolved.

Charlesfort Developments president Doug Casey says the appeal was filed by residents living near the proposed development site and that it was resolved “to the satisfaction of all parties.”

The appeal centred on a decision by the Ontario Municipal Board to allow the development to proceed. Residents objected to the development, saying it was too massive.

Charlesfort has applied for a building permit and excavation was expected to begin on the site this week.
