A garden lecture series hosted by Friends of the Farm and presented by master gardeners on 7 to 9 p.m., in building 72, Arboretum, Central Experimental Farm. Topics covered will include water gardening, ground covers, shade gardening and colours throughout the seasons. Five noon-hour recitals will be presented at St. Andrew’s Church, 82 Kent St., on Spring Tuesdays, April 17-May 15, from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thomas Annand, director of music at St. Andrew’s, will give the series’ opening on April 17. He will play works by J. S. Bach, and Wesley, among others. The 2007 edition of the Directory of Resources for Senior Citizens in Ottawa is now on sale. Published by the Senior Citizens Council of Ottawa, the directory is available at the council’s office, 250 City Centre Ave., Ste. 302, for $5 ($4 for members) and $8 by mail.
The auxiliary of the Ottawa Humane Society meets at 1:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Real Canadian Superstore (Loblaws), 190 Richmond Road, Ottawa New members are welcome.
