The 39th Annual Help Santa Toy Parade is set to take place Saturday, Nov. 22 in Centretown. The parade will start from city hall at 11 a.m., traveling the identical route to last year’s parade due to ongoing construction on Bank Street.

Food security and climate change
An event put on by the organization Food Secure Canada (FSC), held at Bronson Place earlier this month, talked about food scarcity and climate change. While the lobby was swamped in corduroy, hair and bohemian scarves, it is an issue that even non-hippies are getting together to talk about.
Tarspots blight maple leaves
Fall in Centretown is full of bright red and burnt orange, covered in black tar. Tar spots on maple leaves are common, but it has gotten worse this year.

Hope of bringing back a piece of an almost 150 year old ship marooned off the coast of Wales to the city it was named after might be sunk after the quoted price of excavating a piece of the ship from the sea jumped from about $450,000 to $150 million.
