Up to 25 Centretown community sports volunteers will be honoured with a specially minted medallion at the Celebration 2010 ceremony in January, hosted by Ottawa Centre MPP Yasir Naqvi.
Centretown residents will be able to nominate their local sports volunteers to thank them for their help until Nov. 13. To place a nomination, residents must submit a one-page summary to Naqvi on why the candidate deserves recognition for their efforts.
Celebration 2010 is an award program that acknowledges volunteers who support local athletes and make their sports possible by offering their time. These volunteers range from coaches to the staff that works behind the scenes . It can be anyone who makes a difference.
Each of Ottawa’s eight ridings are taking part. Successful nominees and their nominators will be notified by Naqvi if they are successful and will be presented with the medallion at the ceremony.
