The suspicious deaths of two people in an apartment last week were a murder-suicide, police conclude.
Ottawa Police Service have also released the name of the second person found dead at 446 Cambridge St. S. on Jan. 16. The body was that of Ashley Boudreau, 24, of Ottawa. The other body was previously identified as Andrew Ferguson, 33, also of Ottawa.
Autopsies and an investigation by the police major crime unit have concluded that Ferguson killed Boudreau, before taking his own life, police said in a news release Tuesday evening.
On Jan. 7, nine days before the bodies were discovered, police responded to a domestic disturbance call from the same address. The force’s response to that call is now subject to an investigation by the Ontario Special Investigations Unit, who will determine whether one or more officers committed a criminal offence in connection with that initial incident.
Police said no further information will be made until the SIU investigation is complete.
