Rachel Homan’s Ottawa team is straight through to the junior women’s final at the World Junior Curling Championships after beating Sweden 9-3 in the 1-versus-2 playoff Friday.
Homan, along with Emma Miskew, Laura Crocker and Lynn Kreviazuk, built a 7-0 lead after only three ends. Swedish Skip Anna Hasselborg handed the Canadians a steal of four in third end when her draw went through the house.
The Swedes were never able to make up for the loss.
Homan will face the winner of Saturday’s semifinal between the United States and Sweden. The goal medal game will be played Sunday.
