The race is on: arts advocate challenges Holmes
A Centretown arts advocate man has thrown one of his many hats in the ring to represent the Somerset Ward on city council. Don Fex is a local theatre director, festival co-ordinator, book store manager and, if he gets his way in October, he’ll be able to add municipal politician to that list.
Parole office stays put for now
Some Centretown residents are upset that the parole office located near Elgin Street Public School now won’t move to its new location until early 2011.
Theatre Review: Blood Brothers
Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers begins with a rousing musical number. But as a slightly hassled spectator who ran up the back stairs in order to catch the beginning of the first number, the first thing I noticed was that the acoustics favoured the band’s sound rather than the singers.
