A court date has been set for Simon Banke, the Ottawa man facing charges after a fatal Albert Street collision on Thursday night.
His bail hearing will take place on Friday, Sept. 24. Banke appeared in court briefly on Saturday morning, where the hearing was rescheduled.
The 20-year-old is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and bodily harm, criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm, stunt racing, and being a young driver with blood alcohol content above zero.
The collision caused the death of a 36-year-old man and left his 35-year-old wife seriously injured. A car hit the couple as they were waiting for the bus at a temporary stop on Albert Street.
