Upgraded charges are pending against an Ottawa man involved in a crash on Albert Street, Thursday night, after a second crash victim died, according to Ottawa police.

Sherryanne Regnier, a 35-year-old mother of three, died from her injuries early Monday morning, according to a police news release.

Regnier and her husband, Leo Paul Regnier, were standing at a bus stop at Albert Street just west of Bank Street, Thursday evening, when they were struck by a car.

Leo Paul Regnier, 36, died at the scene of the accident.

Simon Banke, 20, could now face new charges in addition to those police laid on Friday.

Currently, Banke is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm and stunt racing. Banke is also charged with driving with a blood-alcohol content level greater than zero, which is illegal for anyone under 22.

Banke’s bail hearing was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed until Sept. 24.
