Local aboriginal art work may soon be featured more prominently throughout the city, now that the artists have an official voice within the City of Ottawa. 
Lasia Kretzel, Centretown NewsMallory Whiteduck, Aboriginal cultural liaison officer for Carleton University's Equity Services, presents a traditional native drum created by artist Jaime Koebel. Her championing of aboriginal art helped to drum up support for the new subcommittee.

New art project unveiled on Preston Street
The Preston Street reconstruction project drew to a close last week with the ceremonial unveiling of Ottawa’s newest public art project called Postcards from the Piazza.

Dominican Gardens talks may conclude in November
The fate of the Dominican Gardens continues to rest on ongoing negotiations between the owners of the garden and the city, which had started in 2008 after its owners put the land up for sale. However, negotiations may come to an end in November.
