Four pedestrians injured in Monday collisions

Four pedestrians were injured Monday in four separate traffic collisions, three of which happened in Centretown.

All four were taken to hospital but are in stable condition, paramedics told CTV.

They said the first accident took place at 9:23 a.m. Monday at Bronson Avenue and Somerset Street. A minivan hit a 27-year-old woman, who suffered head and hip injuries.

About three minutes later, further down Bronson Avenue at Brewer Way, a 24-year-old Carleton student flew three metres after being struck by a car. A collision between two vehicles sent one car out of control and into the pedestrian, said firefighters.

The third accident took place across Centretown at the intersection of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue at 2 p.m. A female was hit by a car as she crossed the street.

About twenty minutes later, a 77-year-old man was hit by an SUV at Albert and Lyon Streets.

Ottawa police are investigating all four incidents.
