Established in 1910, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church began with 66 members, a small number compared with its present membership of 500.
Located in the Centretown Heritage Conservation District the historic Laurentian Club, located at 252 Metcalfe St., was commissioned by lumber baron John R. Booth and built in 1909. It was designated a National Historic Site by the Canadian government in 1990.
When visiting Parliament Hill, few people take notice of the building located across from the East Block. But, in fact, it holds the office of the most important person in the country and the most powerful components of the government.
The brick is strikingly red, standing out against the winter snow banks. But with a moniker like “Hollywood Parade,” a building has to have a personality.
