Ottawa cyclists won’t have to give up their new segregated bike lanes this winter, according to a city press release.
The Laurier Avenue bikes lanes will be kept open all season, except for possible temporary closures because of unsafe conditions, like black ice.
This is part of the city's two-year bike lane pilot project.
If the lanes have to be temporarily closed during winter, signs will be placed at each intersection, but cyclists can also call 3-1-1 or follow @ottawa_traffic on Twitter for updates.
