Ottawa is set to be the first Canadian municipality to use a new system of paying for parking, one that will allow drivers to pay their fees with a quick wave of their cell phones.
The final public consultation on the city’s draft budget at city hall drew only a small group of downtown residents to air their concerns.
City staff has recommended the implementation of the Safer Roads Ottawa Program, which could improve driver, cyclist, and pedestrian safety in Centretown’s high-traffic areas.
