Downtown workers taking transit during the afternoon rush hour can expect a delay heading west after two city buses collided with each other at around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, according to Ottawa police.
The two buses crashed on the Transitway near Tunney’s Pasture station, just west of downtown Ottawa.
Fifteen people were injured in the crash, with seven or eight people taken to hospital with minor injuries, said Ottawa police.
The Transitway is closed between Tunney’s Pasture and Bayview stations. Ottawa police said they expect to have the accident cleaned up within the hour.
Centretown drivers will not see any major traffic delays as a result of this accident as it is only the Transitway being closed down.
Buses are using Scott and Champlain streets as alternate routes.
