The Museum of Nature is a Crown corporation.
Corporations were invented for the purpose of making plans, such as development, move along faster. They weren’t invented to quash the will of the people; in this case, by building a parking lot on land which has been neighbourhood green space for more than 100 years.
The fact of the matter is that the museum promised to return the west lawn, as a park, back to the neighbourhood when construction was completed.
They didn’t vow more green space along with parking. The neighbourhood, a lot of us anyway, expects the Canadian Museum of Nature to honour what it has promised.
