Banke sentenced to 18 months in couple’s death
Simon Banke, 22, the driver who pleaded guilty in the deaths of an Ottawa couple two years ago, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment and handed a five- year driving ban during a sentencing hearing today.
La Vendemmia 2012
The Mediterranean came to Preston Street as Ottawa's sizeable Italian community proudly showcased their culture at the fifteenth annual La Vendemmia GrapeFest on September 22, 2012. Highlights included the traditional grape stomp, horse-pulled wagon rides, fun activities for kids, and of course, delicious, freshly prepared Italian cuisine.
