Federal liberal leadership candidate Marc Garneau made an appearance at D’Arcy McGee’s Irish Pub Monday night.
The event was organized by Youth for Marc Garneau, but attracted people from all age groups. More than 80 people came out to meet Garneau, who announced he would run for leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada on November 28, 2012.
Garneau, Canada’s first astronaut and former president of the Canadian Space Agency, has been a Member of Parliament for Westmount-Ville-Marie since 2008 and is currently the Liberal Natural Resources critic.
He has also served as House Leader and as the critic for Industry, Science and Technology.
There are currently nine official candidates for leadership of the party according to the LPC website.
