Ottawa Police have charged a man in relation to three bank robberies in Centretown this spring.
The first took place on March 28 at the Royal Bank of Canada branch on Bank Street north of Argyle Avenue. A man with a handgun robbed the bank and fled in a green pick-up truck with a Quebec license plate waiting nearby, police said.
A bank on Elgin Street between Somerset and Cooper streets was targetted twice in May. The man did not show a handgun during the second Elgin Street robbery, police said.
All three robberies happened between noon and 1 p.m.
Marc Germain, 45, is charged with three counts of robbery with an offensive weapon and three counts of possession of a weapon, according to a police press release.
