Ottawa will see its first major snowfall of the season tomorrow.
Environment Canada is predicting between 15 to 25 centimetres of snowfall in the Ottawa area from Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
The forecast could translate into poor road conditions and blowing snow in some areas, Environment Canada says.
The City of Ottawa’s street parking ban is implemented from 1 to 7 a.m. when more than 7 centimetres of snow is forecast. There is a $55 fine for parking on the street when the ban is in place, and vehicles will be towed if snowplows are needed to plow streets.
The record snowfall for Ottawa on Nov. 26 was about 17 centimetres in 1977, and 19 centimetres set in 1995 for Nov. 27.
