Jeff Morrison announced today that he will run in the Somerset ward municipal election.
Morrison, former president of the Centretown Community Health Centre, is now the sixth candidate to enter the 2014 race for the downtown ward. The other candidates are incumbent Diane Holmes, Martin Canning, Thomas McVeigh, Denis Schryburt and Lili Weeman.
Morrison says he wants to engage Centretown residents by making the community more inclusive, vibrant and innovative.
“People in Centretown want to have a say in how their community is developed and often their voices are heard and lost, or are only heard when decisions have been made,” says Morrison
Morrison says he plans to get out and hear from residents in the summer about what they would like for their city.
Candidates have until Sept. 12 to file their candidacy. The municipal election will be held on Oct. 27.
