Some facilities closed for Family Day

Many city facilities located in Centretown will be closed on Monday for the provincial Family Day holiday.

City hall and its Client Service Centres will be closed.

Ottawa Public Library branches, including the Main Branch at Metcalfe Street and Laurier Avenue, will also be closed.

No garbage, green bin or recycling collection will happen in the city on Family Day – Monday collection is moved to Tuesday and will bump regular collection one day forward for the remainder of the week.

The Ottawa Public Health Information Line will not be open. Centretown Community Health Centre and Somerset West Community Health Centre will both be closed as well, re-opening on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

OC Transpo will operate mostly as usual, with special school routes stopped for the holiday. O-Train schedules will run as usual.

The Rink of Dreams will be open and will host the Mayor’s Annual Family Day Skating Party.

A city media release suggests checking online or contacting individual facilities if unsure about the Family Day schedule. Some recreation centres offer Family Day programming, such as extra skating or swimming lessons.
