A growing, not-for-profit event that brings tens of thousands of spectators and athletes to Centretown’s streets every spring was recognized for its contributions to the city at the 2013 Ottawa Sports Awards.

New baseball team may be boon to business
Ottawa’s business community hopes to see increased activity when an independent baseball league team starts playing at Ottawa stadium next year. A new lease agreement with the CanAm league, signed by the city last week, will bring 50 games a year to the home stadium on Coventry Road.
Filmmaker focuses his lens on innovation
There are scores of independently owned businesses throughout Centretown, and for documentary filmmaker Satheesh Gopalan they are all tiny empires – each one only a slight push away from expansion into new territory.
