Ottawa Centre MPP and president of the Ontario Liberal Party Yasir Naqvi has been named the new minister of community safety and correctional services.
Previously the minister of labour, Naqvi will now work hand-in-hand with police and correctional services in his new role to improve safety in Ontario, according to a press release from Premier Kathleen Wynne’s office.
Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn will replace Naqvi as the new minster of labour.
Wynne announced the changes to her cabinet today at Queen's Park after former attorney general, Linda Jeffrey, announced that she would resign her seat in order to run for mayor of Brampton, Ont.
