Curlers aim for gold at Worlds
The Ottawa Curling Club recently hosted a spirited send-off for Rachel Homan’s Canadian championship curling team as the athletes prepared to head to New Brunswick for the upcoming Ford Women’s World Championship.

Grassroots festival growing in popularity
The Ottawa Grassroots Festival, a branch of the annual Folk Festival, is expanding to a three-day event in April at Montgomery Legion on Kent Street and other downtown venues. Different from any other festival in Ottawa, it is family friendly, culturally diverse and completely free of charge during the day.
Sharps and Flats looking for senior musicians
The Sharps and Flats band has been bringing music to Centretown for decades, but that sound is getting softer. The band, part of The Good Companions Seniors’ Centre, has seen a decline in members and is looking to expand its numbers once more.
