A man has been sentenced to four years in prison for charges relating to a fatal crash on Bank Street and Laurier Avenue that occurred last October, reported CFRA.
Adam Prevost, 20, was driving over the posted speed limit and ran a red light, in an attempt to flee from police, according to CFRA’s report.
His car crashed into Alan Seguin’s vehicle, killing the 54-year-old.
Prevost was determined to be driving while intoxicated.
He was charged and convicted on Thursday by the Ontario Court of Justice for criminal negligence causing death and for refusing a breathalyzer test, according to the Ottawa Citizen.
Prevost was credited with six months for pre-trial custody, so he will serve three-and-a-half years in prison, reported the Ottawa Citizen.
