Significant new public spaces are expected to be a key feature of the landmark redevelopment of Chaudière and Albert islands in the northwest corner of Centretown, as about 25 per cent of the overall site has been designated for communal use, according to Rodney Wilts, a partner with Windmill Development Group.

Diane Holmes — has approved the rezoning of Albert and Chaudière islands in Centretown for the creation of a huge, new mixed-use community that could eventually become the site of 1,200 residences, many office buildings and several key public spaces on the Ottawa River shore.
