The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board elected its new chair and vice-chair Monday evening.
Shirley Seward, who is currently serving her second term as trustee for River zone, was chosen as the chair of the board.
“The work of the board is vital to public education,” she said in a media release. “I am encouraged by our commitment to student well being, equity and achievement.”
Newly elected vice-chair Catherine Boothby was elected the trustee for Kanata North and South in 2012, and retook the position Monday after running unopposed.
Current trustees will be in office from Dec. 1 to Nov. 30, 2018.
The chair and vice-chair are elected annually.
