In a year marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the ongoing commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, Veterans Affairs Canada and the Canadian War Museum have launched the annual Valentines for Veterans program.
Last January, the Somerset West Community Health Centre set out to make accessing health care services easier for immigrants to Canada by implementing the Multicultural Health Navigator Program. One year later and more than 200 clients served, the program has proved to fill a need in the community – and according to a recent review, that success is expected to carry on into 2015.
The Delta Ottawa City Centre will host the 8th Annual Maddy’s Gala on Feb.7, a fundraiser for Roger’s House, the paediatric palliative care facility here in Ottawa.
