Fire fighters were called to a blaze at 470 Laurier Ave. Wednesday night.
A fire at a Centretown apartment building put tenants out in the cold for about a half hour Wednesday night.
Three fire trucks were called to 470 Laurier Ave. to extinguish the flames. Residents appeared relaxed as they huddled outside the front doors. Parents with small children were allowed to come into the building shortly after the situation was brought under control.
“It was a small electrical fire in the exterior parking garage, there were no injuries, everybody got out safe and nobody was displaced,” said Danny Thomsen, district 10 chief of the Ottawa Fire Services.
Fire fighters isolated the power source to put out the fire, and the only damage was to the garage’s wiring systems, Thomsen said.
