Federal Liberal MPs have joined the chorus of opposition against the huge scale and high-profile location of the planned Victims of Communism Memorial in downtown Ottawa. Ottawa’s older residents are set to benefit from an innovative support program that will be the first of its kind in Eastern Canada. A non-profit support group based in Centretown is introducing a free telephone-based social outreach service for people who are over 55 and for adults with physical disabilities.
The Peace Tower Church in Centretown is rallying until the end of March in order to raise funds to help Christian communities suffering from ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
